Blergh

Reasons I don't like surgery:
  • Everyone is taller than me and I can't see over their shoulders.

  • Steps don't help.

  • Surgery runs all day.

  • You almost always have to skip lunch.

  • You stand centimetres from a hot light. Wearing what amounts to winter pyjamas and a dressing gown. And there's a mask on your face so that all the air you breathe is hot and stuffy.

  • Little girls like me are especially prone to pre-syncopal episodes.

  • Such episodes are more likely on an empty stomach.

  • They make you feel like vomiting.

  • Conscientious but inexperienced surgical trainees take an hour longer than an experienced surgeon.

  • Fighting nausea and muscle fatigue for a whole extra hour sucks.

And to top it all off, the patient probably still has cancer. Poor young thing.
